Biography: James Maxwell is a native Californian, schooled in art from an early age. He studied drawing in Germany, then received his M.F.A. in the U.S. An award-winning artist; he travels extensively. His art materials include diaries and journals, and his paintings and writing have been published in airline magazines. Maxwell’s illustrations have appeared in many fiction and nonfiction books. "I got my first big break when I was a courtroom sketch artist for both the Charles Manson and the Angela Davis trials. When I saw where my work-for-hire career was heading, I quit shortly thereafter to become a fine artist."

As Project Manager:"I was picked," says James. "One person had to answer for the group. A project manager is called upon to be the final say for the details of text being sent back and forth between the authors and editor - on time, illustrations must be gathered and generated, one person has to interface with the publisher, Xlibris (which has been the smoothest relationship of the bunch), and keeping strong coffee brewed for our weekly meetings. I'm a graphic artist/designer. I know about this kinda stuff." He said. "But I want to get back to writing."
